I just finished the second pattern released - Arroway.
Choosing two worsted weight yarns from stash that I had struggled to find projects for - turns out this pattern was fast and fun. Stripes really are addictive and make the knitting compelling. The challenge in this pattern was the "Flying Geese" edging - fair isle in both garter (background ) and St St (geese). I never did find a way to trap the yarn so left the floats long and loose. In the end it was worth the hassle - love the result.
Pattern : Arroway
Yarn: Berroco Vintage -Cast Iron
Berroco Boboli - color # 5320
Needles: Size 8
This worsted weight shawl has been very usable. Worn several times over sweater as a extra layer in our mild winter, it has been just right. Great way to use up stash of any weight, a blast to knit - recommend this pattern for something different for your wardrobe.

My kind of colors! Would love to see a pic of the wrong side...
ReplyDeleteI have yet (gasp) to make a shawl for me! I don't wear shawls but I am guessing that is because I don't have any (you think? ... ) Maybe that can be corrected in 2012? Maybe?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work.
